SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION FORM

CUB’S CAMP

Session #1 June 4-6 (Mon-Wed)       

Session #2 June 11-13 (Mon- Wed)

Time: 8:00am to 4:00pm           

Location: Sikes Field at Mercer

Ages: 5 to 13

Cost: $125 per session

Whether you are an All-Star or a first time player, this camp is for you! This fun-filled camp includes specific skill instruction for all facets of the game. We will introduce the skills of pitching and catching, position play, and hitting. While our goal is to teach as much as possible during this camp we will also put heavy emphasis on having fun and learning important elements of the game through creative tactics.

Mercer Coaches James DeFeo and Kelley Bedrosian will serve as Camp Directors and coordinate a dynamic camp environ­ment for all ages and attendees. Former and current Mercer University Soft­ball players will instruct the campers. This will pro­vide the campers with a truly unique and memorable experience.

HIGH SCHOOL PITCHERS AND CATCHERS

 

Date: June 7-8 (Thurs-Fri) 

Location: Sikes Field at Mercer

Ages: 14 to 18

Cost: $150

 

This camp is for high school pitchers and catchers who are looking to take their skill set to the next level. We will split pitchers and catchers into 2 groups for drill work and then later bring them together for pitcher/catcher battery. During this period they will learn how to control the offense by aggressively and strategically attacking each batter. Throughout the camp pitchers and catchers will learn to work together to DOMINATE hitters.

4:30-5:00 Strategy Presentation

Friday 9:00-12:00

HIGH SCHOOL SKILLS CAMP

Date: June 14 (Thurs)       

Time: 9:00am to 3:00pm

Location: Sikes Field at Mercer

Ages: 14 to 18

Cost: $135

This camp is designed for high school player’s that are working to improve their game and raise their level of play. Campers will receive one-on-one instruction in all facets of the game. Session-I encompasses all areas of defensive play which includes skill work for each position (pitchers and catchers will work separately). Session-II “A Day in the Life of a Mercer Softball Bear” (additional charge) includes an athletic facilities tour, and an exclusive look at the softball locker room and team room. Session-III is devoted to offense where we will share our hitting philosophy and teach the underlying mechanics of the swing.

Session-II: 11:15-12:45 - A Day in the Life of a Mercer Softball Bear

Session-III: 1:00-3:00 - Offense

General Information:

The goal of Mercer Softball Camps is to provide each camper with the necessary tools to improve and play at her highest level. We want each camper to leave with the feeling that she has bettered herself and her softball skills by participating in our clinic. We also want each camper to have an enjoyable time at camp while taking home a wealth of knowledge about the game of softball.

This is a great opportunity for young girls to work with some of the Mercer softball players as well as the coaching staff to advance their skills. If you are interested in attending a camp or clinic, please turn in the necessary information as soon as possible.

 

Camp Instructors:

Assistant Coach Kelley Bretscher will serve as Camp Director and coordinate a dynamic camp environment for all ages and attendees. Each camper will experience the energy and intensity of focused fastpitch softball at the Division-I level.
